Magic the Gathering MTG Magic 2011 core set Booster box contains 36 booster packs with 15 cards each. Released on July 16th 2010, Magic 2011 (M11) is the second core set to contain new cards. Magic 2010 was the first core set to introduce new cards. The set contains 249 black-bordered cards (15 mythic rare, 53 rare, 60 uncommon, 101 common, 20 basic lands). At least five plainswalkers will be included in the mythic rares.
Magic 2011 is the twelfth Magic the Gathering core set. As its predecessor, Magic 2010, the set has new cards in it, but to a lesser extent.
Magic 2011 contains the keyword scry. This marks the first time that a mechanic from an expert level set has been printed in a core set, without making that mechanic evergreen, or permanently available for use in all future sets. Also, this set introduced the concept of "planeswalker signature cards": cards of lesser rarities that are tied directly to the central planeswalker characters of the set (ex. "Ajani's Pridemate" and "Ajani's Mantra" were included as a reference to the planeswalker "Ajani Goldmane"). These cards were made to make the identity of the planeswalkers more accessible to players, as the planeswalker cards themselves are only available in mythic rarities.
Titan cycle - The cycle of titans featured creatures with mana cost 4 generic and 2 of the titan's color: Frost, Inferno, Grave, Primeval, and Sun titans. The latter was used as the pre-release promotional card.
- Fauna Shaman- This is a Survival of the Fittest on a 2/2 creature. It is widely used in many different formats.
